Coffee production in India is predominantly concentrated in the hill tracts of South Indian states, namely Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, located on the tracts of the Western Ghats. Indian coffee grown in Karnataka is said to be the finest coffee grown in the shade rather than in direct sunlight anywhere in the world.

India has moved to the fifth position among the top coffee-exporting nations and contributes almost 5% to world coffee exports. Additionally, almost 75% of Indian coffee is exported.
